Barking dogs seldom bite

Barking dogs seldom bite

Don’t be afraid of dogs that bark or people that threaten you (saying, they will do something bad to you) – in both cases they rarely take action.

If someone is threatening you and warning you that they will do something bad for you – you must not take it seriously as barking dogs seldom bite or never bite.

For example, if you’re coming late and your boss is always threatening you to come early otherwise you may be terminated and if by chance you’re like a key person to him – then, don’t worry, he/she wouldn’t take that dire action against you but constant nagging will always be there.

In life, we come across lot of people, some becomes close friends and some turns into enemies. It’s the enemy that barks often but bites rarely.

Please note that barking dogs seldom bite. There is a chance of 1-5% of their being coming into fatalistic action against you. And, this aspect tells a person to not leave things to chance. If somebody is threatening you constantly then you must do what they want you to do to safeguard yourself — but, is it not an act of coward to back yourself away because of a threat to life or your own property? Saying is easier than telling. It’s easy to say; show courage, be fearless, fight for your right and die for the truth but it’s really hard to do.

All threats to your life and danger should be dealt in a serious manner, you must take the other person’s warning seriously and you should try to build a negotiation bridge to close the gulf of misunderstanding, or whatever aspect that may have drived that person to be envious of you. Also, depending on the threat level, you may seek police protection or a help of an attorney to sort out the matters in a safe manner

Bad news travels fast because

July 15, 2010

Bad news travels fast because

1. It’s often catchy and draws attention of listeners and readers
2. People like to discuss bad news more compare to good news
3. The news is spread ‘using’ word of mouth tool or chain emails.

Bad news can be personal or impersonal.
Personal bad news
1)accident
2)death
3)falling sick
4)loss of job
5)divorce
6)loss of family member
7)losing investment
8)robbery/crime against you
9)getting into a court case/someone sued you
10)failing in exams
11)Kidnapping
12)etc, etc.

Impersonal bad news may be
1)rising inflation
2)fall of a good governance
3)nation under threat
4)loss of home sports team (some people take it personal and end their lives)
5)loss of a well known personality (some people take it personal and end their lives)
6)crash of stock market (it has personal affect too)
7)natural calamities (it has personal affect too but limited to people who fall victim to such a disaster)
8)etc, etc.

Bad news effects are sometimes temporary and sometimes are permanent – it all depends on the severity of loss in terms of psychological as well as financial.
Avoidance of bad news most of the times is not possible as it’s unpredictable. But, bad news like failing in exams, losing a job, can be avoided by being dutiful in such areas of life.

Attack is the best form of defence.

July 11, 2010

Attack is the best form of defence.

In jungle, the stronger animals survives by attacking the weaker animals. The weaker animals have two option – flight or fight. But, because of their weaknesses they prefer to run away from the danger but sometimes they are catched by the stronger animals. Defending ourselves in dire situations is important as sometimes you may be having no way to escape and the only way to escape is to fight and win the battle. That’s why self defence is so important. Though this proverb is very positive as it says attack is the best form of defence but sometimes it’s impossible to defeat something which is huge in strength compare to yourz. In this situation – you can exercise caution and to meet the challenge you must build your strength to that level.

Some countries attack other countries to defend themselves, for example US war against Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. best defines this proverb…they realized that their sovereignty is under threat.

Coming to corporation level, it’s also a do or die matter for small companies. They either compete with giants or get merged in them losing the identity for the sake of survival. Competition is all over the world and someone loses and someone wins, but it’s worth to lose a competition by trying or attacking.

Ask no questions and hear no lies:

July 5, 2010

Ask no questions and hear no lies:

Do you remember how many questions you’ve so far asked to the people you know and how many answers were later turned out to be untrue? Probably many of them, well the solution to avoid hearing false answers or better say lies is to not ask a question at the very first instance at all. It’s better to keep quite and ask no questions because when you ask question for the answer you don’t know and if you suppose the other person knows the answer he/she may manipulate the delivery of answer to you. And, that’s why you must be carful. By allowing to hear an answer from the party you not only may hear lies but suppose if you have acted on the false information you’ll be confronting consquences which may be unpleasant and in some cases may cause cost burden.

It is ok that everyday is a question and answers day. In office you often conver with your subordinates or colleagues in question format manner. And, at home the dialogue is similar to question and answer type. Analyzing situation is important and then deciding whether to ask a question or not. While asking question make sure that you’re asking question to the right person with adequate experience if it’s a question that involves your life and career at stake.

As you sow so shall you reap

June 24, 2010

If a farmer sows tomato seeds, he will reap tomato’s. There is no argument. You get exactly or in proportion to what you sow.
Without sowing there is no reaping. A worker sows his skill and energy to get his wages. If somebody is reaping without sowing then it’s questionable.

The sowing and reaping is an age-old-law and it stood the test of time. What you’re sowing everyday is very important. If you’re a student, make sure you’re sowing those little seeds of education in your mind so that you may fare well in exams and your career interviews. If you’re a job holder, sow everyday your job duties so that you may shine in your career. And, like this, whatever be your life role may be try to do it well so that you can reap its benefits well.

It’s a motivational quote also, if you’re not getting what you are aiming to get out of life, then, there’s certainly a lack or a vaccum, in your sowing.

To take charge of your life, take immediate action of all which you are sowing everyday in the matters of health, wealth, and relationship.

As you make your bed, so you must lie upon it

June 23, 2010

How many times you did something wrong? Perhaps, may be innumerable times. But, after facing the consequences of your wrong doing you may have thought you should have not done that. It happens with all of us.

Human beings are choosing organisms – we choose one over another. Example, you may choose to go to a movie, or a picnic and the list is so on. And, when some of these choices turns bad — it hurts us and people remark by saying as you make your bed, so you must lie upon.

Many businesses in order to cut cost, choose bad quality raw material which causes them to loose customer satisfaction.

Some common phrases associated with this proverb are

1. I’ve told you that’s not good but you not listened

2. After doing that thing, I realized that it was a wrong choice

3. don’t rush into decision that you may regret later

Any publicity is good publicity.

June 20, 2010

Any publicity is good publicity.

Publicity means the Information that concerns a person, a group, an event, or a product and that is disseminated through various media to attract public notice. The key to success for any product, service, individual or companies lies in the hands of the public. Without public awareness and satisfaction no body can become successful.

You’ve produced a fantastic product but if you not do the publicity of it – the product remains in the shelves. And, if publicity is done properly the product circulation increases and if liked by the people to whom it’s targeted then it leads to more production and sales.

Now, publicity sometimes may be negative and sometimes it may be a positive. In any case, sales drives and that’s why any publicity is good publicity because the outcome is achieved. A bad review about any thing a book; a movie; or a product increases general curiosity in the public to know why somebody said it’s bad and a good review also triggers the general public to find what’s good about it.
But, it’s important to stay safe and achieve a positive publicity always. One time bad publicity, may be forgiven but repeated bad reviews and dissatisfaction of the consumers brings downfall.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure

June 19, 2010

The rule of prevention is applicable to every area of your life. Whether it’s health, family, job, or any other small or big issues like vehicle maintenance all needs a regular attention.

When we neglect things the problem becomes bigger. For example, if you’re eating junk food, not exercising, and doing all wrong things with your health then all of a sudden something will show up in your health check-up chart that draws your attention tightly. You’ll realize that you’ve been late in redressing the problem. Hence, it’s better to manage your life the way it deserves to be managed.

Life is beautiful but without its proper care it starts to become a liability and a cause of stress and tension. The rule is prevent your beautiful life from experiencing undue difficulties by taking control of your health, wealth, family, job, and all those things that are helping you in your day to day life.

When you manage things and address its issues as and when they arise immediately or even more better if you schedule appropriate maintenance coupled with discipline and determination to make life worth living you’ll be able to feel and live better the god gifted one life.

An army marches on its stomach

June 18, 2010

Can we able to live without food?

No.

Why we cannot live without food?

Because food is a source of energy and energy helps all our body organs to perform their work efficiently. Without food we will starve to death and we will all become handicap. Food production is perhaps the single most highly important function of all the world economies. A country cannot prosper in other ares like industrialization, information processing etc, if it cannot produce or import enough food to feed the millions of people living in that country.

Whether it’s an army or an individual – food is the first thing. When you wake up in the morning the first thing you’ll be naturally inclined to have is the breakfast and if you’re among those people who are not breakfasters – still, you’ll not be able to do your duty efficiently if you ignore your hungry stomach. Because a hungry stomach takes immediate revenge by putting your brain and body in a pathetic state. Hence, food is essential and key to long living. Everyone, who is healthy and living long has never starved himself more than what his/her body may endure.

If you’re like many one who has a regular food intake then you must be appreciative to god and also to all those who’re involved in making food available to you.

Unfortunately, there are millions of people who die of hunger and According to the World Health Organization, hunger is the gravest single threat to the world’s public health. According to the FAO, starvation currently affects more than one billion people, or 1 in 6 people on the planet. I recommend reading this Wikipedia page

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

Recently one of my friend has sent this forwarded email to me:

Be Careful when eating apples
Please don’t eat the skin of the apple because it’s coated with wax.
Check before you eat many of the fruits.
WAX is being used for preservation purposes and cold storage.
You might be surprised especially apples from USA and other parts are more than one year old, though it would look fresh. Becox wax is coated, preventing bacteria to enter. So it does not get dry.
Please Eat Apples after removing the wax

In this age of hybrid cultivation, cold storage, and urban life it’s becoming difficult for all of us to have fresh vegetables as well as fruits.
